XTRAN Telemetry Measurement System (XTMS)
XTRAN Telemetry Measurement System (XTMS) is a flexible, scalable and robust wireless measurement system that enables the connection of up to 100 sensors of any type to report back to a single tablet for viewing and logging. Based on a proprietary 2.4GHz wireless protocol and using optimised hardware, remote measurements can be transmitted point-to-point up to 800m line-of-sight (and further with a repeater), directly from the sensors to the basestation receiver, ensuring you can view sensor readings from a safe distance.
XTMS was designed to remove maintenance personnel from dangerous live work around mining vehicles and heavy equipment while facilitating accurate wireless measurement from a safe location and improving operational efficiency. The mining industry refers to this safety initiative as “Elimination of Live Work” (ELW). The XTMS ELW solution came about when Applied Measurement Australia (AMA) was approached by one of Australia’s largest mining companies to help them reduce the risk of incidents involving personnel taking measurements during maintenance. AMA’s sensor knowledge and systems integration expertise along with the experience of mining maintenance personnel resulted in a deep understanding of the application and requirements, and ultimately XTMS was developed. Customers have reported reducing their site risk by more than 40% with XTMS.
Designed for rugged environments, the XTMS wireless platform is well suited to extreme Australian conditions and is ideal for remote monitoring of equipment, heavy equipment maintenance, and inspection of dangerous and difficult-to-access locations.

Hydraulic/Air Pressure Sensor
This high-quality pressure transducer kit has been designed to be rugged and accurate for all pressure measurements including hydraulic oil pressure, air pressure, etc.. The standard kits include either a 5,000 psi or 10,000 psi sensor, transmitter and 1 meter of cable to position the transmitter in the best possible position for signal reception. Other options include alternative pressure ranges (e.g. 500 psi), standardized quick connectors and custom port adapters.

This high temperature non-contact RPM sensor is designed to measure RPM’s up to 50,000 RPM for rotating assemblies such as fan blades. The sensor is designed for use in slightly higher temperature environments (up to 125 DegC) such as engine bays. The magnetic base has a powerful 90kg holding force, and the sensor is quick and easy to position.

2.4GHz Wireless Communication
XTRAN Telemetry Measurement System (XTMS) utilises an advanced 2.4GHz wireless protocol to enable robust communications with a range of up to 800 meters line-of-site. XTMS also performs exceptionally well around metal objects such as heavy equipment in maintenance sheds or out in the field, and is proven to operate effectively in underground tunnels.
Sensors are integrated with a wireless transmitter. Sensor output signals are transmitted from each wireless transmitter to the wireless basestation receiver using a direct point-to-point wireless topology (i.e. there are no wifi routers or 3rd party hardware that may cause signal dropouts and critical data loss).
The flexible communications platform allows up to 100 sensors to be simultaneously connected on the same system, offering operational efficiency and productivity gains. Multiple different XTMS systems can be used in the same area without conflict.

Our rugged tablet is military-spec and is recommended for harsh environments including workshop and field use. It comprises a CNC machined aluminium alloy chassis, toughened glass with a resistive touch screen that works even when wet, and integrated 2.4GHz wireless basestation receiver. The battery is hot-swappable. The cabling and connectors are also military-spec and designed for heavy-duty use. Options include: sunshade, stylus, double-capacity battery, battery charging dock, and rugged mounting solutions . The tablet can be supplied in a rugged case with custom foam insert.
In addition to the communications platform software, the tablet runs the visualisation, logging, and reporting software which enables viewing of up to 100 sensors of varying types at the same time. The software can be customised to suit your application.
